MEBO, Apr 9: Mebo MLA Oken Tayeng, while stating that projects should not only be completed but also be felt by the people at the grassroots level, stressed on impactful development, and called for attention to detail in infrastructure projects, including design, durability, and visual appeal, so that public assets remain functional and presentable for decades.
The MLA was speaking at a comprehensive coordination-cum-review meeting on ongoing developmental works & new proposals under Mebo sub-division held at the conference hall here in East Siang district today.
The meeting, chaired by the MLA, focused on reviewing progress, identifying challenges, and strengthening implementation strategies. Co-chaired by ADC Mebo Nancy Yirang and CO Mebo Toimi Tagi, the meeting was attended by district HoDs and sub-divisional heads of various departments.
In his address, Tayeng emphasized on coordination and convergence among departments as crucial for effective governance and development planning to ensure smoother execution of projects and efficient public service delivery in health, education, infrastructure, and law & order, maintaining high standards of construction quality, aesthetics, and cleanliness in all government infrastructures.
The MLA also underlined the importance of law and order, improved connectivity to remote and riverine areas, and strengthening health and emergency access to reach the remote and last man in the line to ensure the last mile delivery.
Encouraging innovation, Tayeng invited departments to bring forward practical and solution-oriented ideas, particularly in areas such as tourism development and rural infrastructure. He reiterated his commitment to being accessible and supportive, assuring full cooperation in facilitating administrative coordination and addressing challenges faced by departments. (DIPRO)
