Seppa, Apr 14: Training of Enumerators and Supervisors for the House Listing & Housing Census (Phase-1) under Census 2027 has commenced in East Kameng district, with the first phase of the training held across Seppa Rural, Debeyer, and Richukrong circles on Monday.
The sessions were conducted by trained field instructors under the supervision of the respective Charge Census Officers, ensuring systematic and effective capacity building of field personnel.
The training programme focused on survey procedures, roles and responsibilities, and verification protocols to ensure accuracy in data collection. Enumerators were trained to carefully validate information provided by households and authenticate responses during field visits. Emphasis was also laid on the proactive use of digital applications for mapping, data collection, and efficient implementation.
As per the schedule, the self-enumeration phase will be carried out from April 16 to 30, followed by field enumeration from May 1-30, 2026. The initiative reflects the district administration’s commitment to transparent and technology-driven census operations.
Panchayat Day preps reviewed
In a separate development, a coordination meeting with Zilla Parishad Members (ZPMs), Block Development Officers (BDOs), and Panchayat staff was held at Seppa to review preparations for the upcoming Panchayat Day on April 24.
The meeting, chaired by the ZPC East Kameng, focused on organising the celebration in a grand and meaningful manner for the first time in the district. Discussions also centred on effective implementation of Govt schemes at the grassroots level, enhancing transparency, and ensuring that benefits reach intended beneficiaries.
Participants reiterated their commitment to transforming East Kameng into a development-oriented district. The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks from the Chairperson, who stressed the importance of unity among Panchayat leaders and called for regular coordination meetings to ensure sustained progress.
