CM felicitates 461 CSLE 2025 appointees, calls for citizen-friendly administration

Itanagar, Apr 17: Chief Minister Pema Khandu on Friday felicitated 461 successful candidates of the Combined Secondary Level Examination (CSLE) 2025 and handed over their Orders of Appointment in a ceremony held at the DK Convention Centre here.

The recruitment, conducted by the Arunachal Pradesh Staff Selection Board, witnessed participation from 47,132 aspirants competing for Group ‘C’ and ‘D’ posts across 26 departments, including seven Deputy Commissioners’ offices, making the selection process highly competitive.

Congratulating the appointees, the Chief Minister attributed their success to hard work, dedication and perseverance, while also acknowledging the role of parents and well-wishers in their journey.

Khandu commended the APSSB for maintaining a transparent and merit-based recruitment system, noting that the Board has emerged as a key institution in strengthening governance and has earned ISO certification for its processes.

Recalling past reforms, he said recruitment practices were revamped after he assumed office to ensure fairness and equal opportunity for all aspirants. The establishment of the Board, he added, has created a level playing field where merit and competence determine selection.

Highlighting the role of government employees, Khandu said they form the permanent institutional framework of governance and expressed confidence that the new recruits would contribute to building an efficient and responsive administration.

Khandu noted that, for the first time, candidates belonging to the Arunachal Pradesh Scheduled Tribe (APST) category secured 39 unreserved seats in the general category, describing it as a reflection of growing competitiveness among local candidates.

The Chief Minister also congratulated ex-servicemen selected through the recruitment process and announced that the state government will provide reservation for Agniveers completing their tenure in the armed forces. He directed concerned departments to frame the necessary rules for its implementation.

Calling upon the new recruits to uphold the highest standards of public service, Khandu stressed that government employees are “servants of the people” and must work with compassion, humility and professionalism. He urged them to ensure a citizen-friendly environment in government offices.

He further encouraged them to adapt to emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence and machine learning, stressing that government employees must remain aligned with changing times. He directed departments to introduce technology-based training modules in collaboration with the Administrative Training Institute.

Reaffirming the government’s commitment to merit-based governance, Khandu said: “Merit is respected, hard work is rewarded, and honesty is non-negotiable,” expressing confidence that the new workforce will contribute to the vision of Viksit Arunachal 2047.

The CSLE 2025 examination was conducted on October 26, 2025 across multiple centres in the state following its notification in July, 2025.

Ministers Wangki Lowang, Biyuram Wahge and Kento Jini, along with senior officials including Chief Secretary (in-charge) Vivek Pandey, DGP Dr S D S Jamwal and Secretary (GA) Komkar Dulom, were present on the occasion.
