BOMDILA, Apr 20: The Department of English, Government College Bomdila, organised a workshop on “Adaptation to Interpretation: From Text to Film” at the Convention Hall on Monday. The workshop aimed to enhance students’ understanding of how literary texts are transformed into cinematic narratives.
Dr. Indrajeet Singh, an acclaimed writer, poet, and educationist from Dehradun, served as the resource person for the event. The programme began with a welcome address by Assistant Professor Dr Tenzin Lhamo Minto, who warmly received the guest.
Head of the Department of English, Dr Vineeta Dowerah, introduced the theme of the workshop and provided context by discussing notable film adaptations. The Principal Dr Tashi Phuntso encouraged students to actively engage and make the most of the learning opportunity.
The inaugural session concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Priya T Khunjuju. Approximately 90 students attended the workshop and participated actively throughout the sessions.
During the technical session, Dr Indrajeet Singh elaborated on the nuances of adapting literary works into films. The session included a screening of the film Haider, followed by interactive activities that saw enthusiastic student participation.
The workshop proved to be an insightful and enriching experience for all attendees.
