Census 2027: Three-day training concludes in Tirap dist

KHONSA, Apr 22: As part of Census 2027, a three-day training programme for enumerators and supervisors in Tirap district concluded successfully today.

The training was conducted across multiple locations by designated master trainers. In Khonsa Rural, Borduria and Dadam circles, Tapan Deb and Khomi Mimi imparted the sessions at the NBF hall, DC’s office complex, Khonsa.

For Khonsa Urban and Longo, Ejoy Ketok and Toni Apang conducted the training at the DC’s office conference hall, Khonsa. In Bari-Basip and Lazu, Tehat Tangjang and Wangtop Thinra led the sessions at the conference hall, block ‘C’, DC’s office, Khonsa.

Similarly, in Deomali Urban, Namsang and Soha areas, Pakkar Nomuk and C Choudhary facilitated the training at the conference hall, ADC’s office, Deomali.

The sessions focused on capacity building and equipping participants with the necessary knowledge and skills for technology-enabled census processes, ensuring accurate and efficient data collection.

Highlighting the new system's user-friendly features, a live demonstration of self-enumeration was conducted at Khonsa, in presence of officers/officials from the Department of Economics & Statistics.

A total of six officers underwent self-enumeration exercise during the training programme.

Meanwhile, officials have expressed optimism that prominent members of the community would come forward to undertake self-enumeration, thereby encouraging wider public participation and contributing to the successful conduct of the census exercise. (DIPRO)
