Minister Natung reviews development works at Seppa coordination meeting

Seppa, Apr 23: A district-level coordination meeting was held here on Thursday under the chairmanship of Home Minister Mama Natung to review the progress of ongoing developmental initiatives and strengthen inter-departmental coordination in East Kameng district.

The meeting began with a welcome address by in-charge Deputy Commissioner Manjunath R, who highlighted the need for convergence among departments to ensure efficient service delivery, transparency, and timely implementation of government schemes.

Heads of key departments presented detailed updates on various schemes and projects through PowerPoint presentations. Departments including District Planning & Development Office (DPDO), Rural Development, Arunachal State Rural Livelihoods Mission (ArSRLM), Public Works Department (PWD), Public Health Engineering (PHE), and Rural Works Department (RWD) shared their progress, achievements, and challenges such as difficult terrain, logistical constraints, and the need for enhanced field-level monitoring.

During the interactive session, Zilla Parishad Members raised several issues of public importance, particularly stressing proper utilization and management of assets created under Panchayat schemes. They emphasized that such assets should remain under the supervision of Panchayati Raj institutions to ensure accountability and sustainability.

The meeting also discussed preparations for the Panchayat Day celebration scheduled for April 24, focusing on coordination, logistics, and community participation across all Panchayats in the district.

MLA Ealing Tallang shared updates on recent developmental activities in Seppa and flagged emerging concerns, urging departments to address them in a coordinated manner. Zilla Parishad Chairperson Pai Pizi Yangfo also provided inputs, reaffirming support from Panchayati Raj institutions for effective grassroots implementation.

Addressing the gathering, Minister Natung appreciated the efforts of departmental heads in implementing schemes and urged them to work with renewed commitment to make East Kameng one of the best-performing districts in the state.

The meeting was attended by the Divisional Forest Officer, administrative officers, Deputy Superintendent of Police, heads of departments, and all 13 Zilla Parishad Members.

The meeting concluded with a collective resolve to strengthen coordination, bridge implementation gaps, and ensure transparent and accountable governance for the overall development of the district. (DIPRO)
