ZIRO, Apr 29: The 18th District Level NCORD Committee Meeting was held on Wednesday at the Mini Secretariat under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner-cum-Chairman Oli Perme, reaffirming the district administration’s commitment to intensify coordinated action against drug trafficking and substance abuse in Lower Subansiri district.
Attended by committee members, police officials, and ZPC Hibu Dumi, the meeting focused on reviewing earlier recommendations and addressing implementation gaps, with the Chairperson issuing a strict directive for all departments to ensure the timely execution of pending action points.
The Anti-Drug Squad specifically instructed to immediately submit the long-awaited report on drug victims and their parents, underscoring the urgency of data-driven intervention.
Representatives from the education sector highlighted the need for enhanced parental awareness programmes and sought better access to official circulars to improve students’ guidance. Responding to the concern, the Chairperson directed the Nodal Officer to regularly share all meeting minutes and circulars with the ZPC, DIPRO, and school authorities.
Concluding the meeting, ZPC Hibu Dumi acknowledged the gravity of the drug menace and assured full cooperation from her office, pledging active participation in future committee proceedings to ensure a unified and sustained response against narcotics in the district. (DIPRO)
