KOLORIANG, Apr 29: The District Level Monitoring Committee (DLMC) meeting for Kurung Kumey district was held on Wednesday at the DC's conference hall under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Cheechung Chukhu. The meeting was attended by local MLA Pani Taram, Zilla Parishad Chairperson Bake Yama Yangda, along with heads of offices, officials from various departments, and local elected representatives.
The DLMC undertook a comprehensive review of developmental activities across the district, stressing the importance of effective inter-departmental coordination for the successful implementation of government schemes and projects. Officers were urged to ensure transparency, accountability, and timely execution of works to maximize public benefit.
During the session, departmental heads delivered detailed presentations outlining both physical and financial progress. Key sectors reviewed included infrastructure development, rural development programmes, education, healthcare services, road connectivity, drinking water supply, agriculture, power, and welfare initiatives.
The meeting also highlighted several challenges hindering progress, such as difficult terrain, transportation constraints, manpower shortages, and delays in execution. Members deliberated on possible solutions and directed concerned departments to expedite pending works, enhance monitoring mechanisms, and address bottlenecks promptly.
