Labour Day celebrated at Pasighat with focus on workers’ welfare

PASIGHAT, May 2: The Arunachal Pradesh Trade Union Federation (APTUF), Pasighat Unit, celebrated International Labour Day with enthusiasm, highlighting the importance of workers’ rights and welfare.

The programme began with the reception of dignitaries and flag hoisting, followed by a welcome address emphasizing the significance of the day in recognising the contribution of workers. Cultural presentations added vibrancy to the celebration.

A memorandum highlighting key labour issues was submitted during the programme.

Addressing the gathering as chief guest, MLA Tapi Darang stated that workers are the backbone of development and stressed the need for fair wages, safe working conditions, and effective implementation of welfare schemes. He also called for enhanced skill development and better coordination between workers and the administration.

Among those present were Tagom Padung (Chief Councillor, PMC), Tadam Haging (ZPM & Secretary, AAPPRP), along with representatives of APTUF and other stakeholders. (DIPRO)
