DC Tungge Loya concludes service with Janata Durbar at Mechukha

Mechukha, May 3: In a notable example of citizen-centric governance, Shi-Yomi Deputy Commissioner Tungge Loya conducted the third edition of the Janata Durbar at Mechukha on the final day of his service before superannuation, on April 30 last.

The Janata Durbar, envisioned as an inclusive platform, enabled citizens to directly present their grievances, concerns, and developmental issues before the district administration and various departments. The initiative reinforced transparency, accountability, and efficiency in public service delivery by ensuring prompt redressal of issues in the presence of all concerned stakeholders.

Officials from multiple departments, including heads of offices, attended the programme, facilitating on-the-spot resolution of several grievances. Issues requiring further procedural action were documented by a designated committee for follow-up at the district headquarters, ensuring that no genuine concern is overlooked.

A wide range of public issues were raised and discussed during the Durbar. Key concerns included e-KYC compliance, LPG shortages and supply rationalisation, strengthening horticulture extension services, and improving farmer enrolment under PM-KISAN.

Other issues highlighted were the shortage of medical professionals, issuance of disability certificates through coordination between ICDS and the District Medical Officer (DMO), waste management practices, and the need for legal awareness among Gaon Burahs on the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS). The operationalisation of fire and emergency services at Mechukha was also discussed.

The event also featured multi-service facilitation camps, enhancing outreach and service delivery. Camps for Aadhaar enrolment and updation, birth and death registration, and transport-related services were organised, enabling citizens to access essential services at their doorstep.

The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from community members, PRI representatives, HGBs/GBs, and Govt officials. The interactive nature of the Durbar fostered constructive dialogue between the administration and the public, ensuring that voices from even remote areas were heard.

The successful conduct of the Janata Durbar on his final day in office reflects Tungge Loya’s dedication to grassroots governance and public service. The initiative not only addressed immediate concerns but also strengthened public trust, leaving behind a strong example of participatory governance for the district. (DIPRO)
