Khonsa, May 3: Students of Kendriya Vidyalaya (KV) Khonsa have brought laurels to their institution with outstanding performances at the 55th KVS Tinsukia Regional Sports Meet 2026 held in KV No. 1, Itanagar.
The prestigious meet witnessed participation from over 300 students representing more than 30 Kendriya Vidyalayas across Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, and Manipur, showcasing impressive talent and sportsmanship.
Representing KV Khonsa, the following students secured notable achievements: Tumlan from Upper Kolam village won a gold medal in boxing (48–50 kg, boys’ category). Wangkia Wangsu, from Chasa village, secured the silver medal in high jump (U-19 boys category). He also bagged a bronze medal in the 800 metres race (U-19 boys category).
These accomplishments have brought pride and recognition to the school and Tirap district. The achievements reflect the dedication, discipline, and sporting spirit nurtured among students at KV Khonsa.
The school authorities and members of the district community have congratulated the young athletes on their success and wished them continued excellence in future competitions.
