Fire Safety Week 2026 observed at DH Seppa

Seppa, May 6: As part of the observance of Fire Safety Week 2026, a fire safety pledge was administered on Tuesday at District Hospital (DH), Seppa. During the event, the hospital staff reaffirmed their commitment to upholding fire prevention measures and adhering to established safety protocols.

Continuing the initiative, a comprehensive mock drill on fire safety was conducted on Wednesday for healthcare workers at the hospital, in collaboration with the Fire & Emergency Services Department, Seppa. The exercise was designed to strengthen emergency preparedness, enhance response capabilities, and promote awareness among staff regarding effective management of fire-related incidents.

The mock exercise included practical demonstrations on the use of fire extinguishers, safe evacuation procedures, identification of fire hazards, and coordinated response mechanisms during emergencies. Emphasis was placed on minimizing risks, ensuring patient safety, and maintaining clear communication during crisis situations.

Such initiatives play a vital role in building a culture of safety and vigilance within healthcare institutions. Regular training and drills not only equip staff with essential life-saving skills but also ensure swift and organized responses during unforeseen emergencies, officials said.
