NIRJULI, May 10: The valedictory session of MAiTRI-2026 (MAchine intelligence for Research & Innovations) organised by the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering of North Eastern Regional Institute of Science and Technology, was held on Saturday at the EE Seminar Hall of the institute.
Attending the session, NERIST Director Prof Narendranath S, in his address, appreciated the efforts of the organising chairs, Dr Kurmendra and Dr Chitranjan Kumar Rai, and congratulated the Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering for successfully organising the international conference. He also encouraged the department to conduct more such academic and research-oriented events in future.
Samrendra Dandapat from IIT Guwahati highlighted the importance of organising such conferences in reputed institutions like NERIST and emphasised the growing role of machine intelligence in national development.
Dean (Administration) Prof M Chandrasekharan and Dean (Planning & Development) Prof Sachindra Mahato lauded the department for successfully conducting the major conference in collaboration with Dr B R Ambedkar National Institute of Technology Jalandhar.
Representing the participants, Dr Arvind Prajapati, Assistant Professor at Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology Allahabad, appreciated the uniqueness of the conference and praised the keynote speakers for their insightful lectures.
Head In-charge of the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, Prof Rajesh Kumar, highlighted the significance of MAiTRI-2026. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by the organising chairs, who expressed gratitude to the NERIST administration, collaborating institutions, student volunteers, participants, and all stakeholders for their support and cooperation in making the conference a grand success.
