DLMC meeting reviews development works; Smart Information Board inaugurated in Bomdila

BOMDILA, May 11: A coordination meeting of the District Level Monitoring Committee (DLMC) was held at the DC's conference hall here under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Dr Dilip Kumar to review developmental activities and strengthen coordination among departments and Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs).

Attending the meeting, Dirang MLA and Advisor to the Minister for PWD, Highways & Science & Technology, Phurpa Tsering, stressed the important role played by Panchayat leaders in monitoring developmental works. He suggested that such coordination meetings be conducted constituency-wise to ensure wider participation and effective discussion on local issues.

The lawmaker also directed the Rural Works Department to immediately operationalise the cremation ground constructed at Dirang for public use.

Highlighting the objectives of the DLMC meeting, the DC urged PRI members to remain vigilant regarding developmental projects being implemented within their jurisdictions. He encouraged them to coordinate closely with executing agencies and contractors and actively monitor the progress of works.

He further instructed the PWD Bomdila Division to expedite completion of the augmented DC Office building in Bomdila to facilitate early shifting of offices.

Speaking on the Vibrant Villages Programme (VVP), the DC emphasised the need to learn from previous experiences and stated that proposals under the scheme should align with programme objectives and be prepared in consultation with the concerned MLAs.

He also sought cooperation from all heads of departments in initiating the town planning process for Bomdila.

MLAs of Kalaktang and Thrizino, along with HoDs, also shared their views during the meeting.

Earlier in the day, MLA Phurpa Tsering inaugurated a Smart Public Information Board at Buddha Stadium, Bomdila, in the presence of Tseten Chombay, DC Dilip Kumar, SP Dorjee Wangdi Thungon, SBI Chief Manager Bedanga Goswami, HoD, and members of the public.

Installed at the heart of Bomdila township, the Smart Public Information Board aims to disseminate information on government schemes, programmes, and important public messages through digital means to improve public outreach and awareness.
