TAWANG, May 11: With a view to review the progress and achievements of developmental projects in Tawang district, a District Level Monitoring Committee (DLMC) meeting was held here today, with Deputy Commissioner Namgyal Angmo chairing the meet.
The meeting witnessed the presence of Additional Deputy Commissioners - Hakraso Kri (Jang) and Tashi Dhondup (Lungla); administrative officers; HoOs; and executive engineers from various departments implementing developmental projects across the district.
A key concern raised during the meeting was the deteriorating condition of batteries in solar street lights installed in villages across the district several years ago. The concerned department has been directed to pursue the matter with higher authorities for timely replacement and restoration.
During the meeting, works departments through detailed PPT presentations highlighted the status and progress of developmental projects and ongoing activities in different parts of the district.
The respective ADCs also reviewed and highlighted projects under their respective jurisdictions.
The committee extensively reviewed schemes and projects being implemented under NEC, MoDoNER, NESIDS, NLCPR, RIDF, SADA, MSDP, MLALADS, RE, BE, MPLADS, Untied Fund, Vibrant Village Programme, and other Centrally Sponsored Schemes, along with state-funded and flagship programmes.
Reviewing the completed projects in detail, the DC directed all implementing departments to ensure that projects are completed in every aspect, including the provision of essential basic facilities. She further instructed that projects lacking necessary facilities should not be taken over from implementing agencies until they are fully completed and functional.
The DC also called for fresh submission of projects under Vibrant Village Programme (VVP)-2 to strengthen developmental initiatives in border areas.
