Itanagar, May 13: Arunachal Pradesh State Transport Services (APSTS) on Wednesday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with redBus, a subsidiary of MakeMyTrip (India) Pvt Ltd, to expand its online e-ticketing services across the State.
The MoU signing ceremony was presided over by Transport Minister Ojing Tasing and attended by Transport Commissioner Saugat Biswas along with other officials.
The agreement was signed between General Manager of State Transport Services Mito Dirchi and Director (Supply), RedBus, Rajarshi Bhowmick.
With the partnership coming into force, RedBus-MakeMyTrip will serve as the official online bus ticketing partner of APSTS. The collaboration will integrate APSTS ticketing inventory with a dedicated software platform configured exclusively for the Transport Department, ensuring seamless and uninterrupted access to State transport services.
The online ticketing platform is expected to be operational from next month and will be accessible through mobile phones, personal computers, booking counters and bus conductors. Passengers will also be able to book APSTS tickets through MakeMyTrip and its partner platforms, including Goibibo, Google Pay, Amazon Pay and IRCTC.
Speaking on the occasion, Minister Ojing Tasing said the initiative would significantly improve accessibility, convenience and digital reach of APSTS services for the general public. He added that the move is also expected to enhance revenue generation while providing passengers with a smooth and user-friendly booking experience.
Commissioner Saugat Biswas informed that the online booking facility would initially cover inter-state routes, following which services within Arunachal Pradesh would also be integrated into the platform.
