KHONSA, May 15: A comprehensive review meeting of the Department of Tirap, Changlang and Longding Affairs (DoTCL) was held with the participation of officials from various line departments including RWD, PWD, PHE&WS, Agriculture, Horticulture, and Rural Development to assess the progress of ongoing developmental schemes and strengthen coordination for effective implementation of public welfare programmes.
The meeting was chaired by DoTCL Secretary Wayong Khimhun in the presence of Tirap Deputy Commissioner Techu Aran, Khonsa ADC Namneet Singh, and DoTCL Deputy Director Wangton Lowang and Assistant Director Montu Mossang.
During the meeting, the participating departments presented the status of ongoing schemes and projects through PowerPoint presentations. Detailed discussions were held on the progress, implementation, and impact of various developmental activities being carried out across different locations under DoTCL.
Officials also conducted inspections of ongoing projects to assess ground-level implementation and ensure effective execution of schemes in the interest of the public. Special emphasis was laid on impactful and sustainable investments aimed at improving public welfare and socio-economic development in the region.
The meeting further highlighted the need for awareness programmes against drug addiction and substance abuse among youths and local communities. Departments were encouraged to undertake coordinated initiatives to strengthen awareness and preventive measures.
In the agriculture sector, officials stressed the importance of promoting cluster farming in villages to enhance productivity, and ensure better utilization of available resources. Discussions were also held on Special Assistance under SASCI and the need for proper planning in education and developmental sectors for long-term benefits.
All departments were instructed to maintain proper coordination and accountability to avoid duplication of schemes and projects. Emphasis was laid on transparency, effective monitoring, and responsible implementation for the overall benefit of the people.
The meeting concluded with a collective commitment from all departments to work in close coordination for accelerating developmental activities and ensuring efficient delivery of public services in Tirap district.
The day-long meeting ended with a vote of thanks delivered by Namneet Singh, who highlighted the importance of proper guidelines, monitoring systems, and regular evaluation of schemes to ensure that the intended benefits effectively reach the people. (DIPRO)
