Itanagar, May 15: The Namsai Police detected and externed 59 Inner Line Permit (ILP) violators from Namsai district during an intensive enforcement drive conducted from May 8 to 15.
The checking drives were carried out by all police stations of the district as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen law and order, regulate unauthorized entry, and ensure strict compliance with ILP regulations.
According to police sources, the operations were conducted under the direction of the Superintendent of Police, Namsai at various strategic locations, including market areas, entry points, construction sites, and other vulnerable stretches across the district.
A total of nine checking drives were conducted during the period. During the week-long operation, several individuals were found staying or moving without valid ILP.
Police informed that altogether 59 violators were detected and subsequently produced before the magistrate. After completion of due legal formalities, all violators were externed from the district.
The district police reiterated their commitment towards effective enforcement of ILP provisions to prevent illegal entry and unauthorized stay while strengthening public security in the district. They further informed that such enforcement drives would continue regularly with enhanced vigilance in the coming days.
WK Police books 19 ILP violators
Continuing its ongoing ILP enforcement drive across the district, the West Kameng Police conducted a special ILP checking drive within the jurisdiction of Bomdila Police Station.
During the drive, police officials detected 19 individuals without valid ILP documents.
According to police sources, non-FIR cases were registered against the violators under Section 3 of the Bengal Eastern Frontier Regulation Act, 1873 in accordance with legal provisions.
Police stated that the enforcement drive forms part of ongoing efforts to ensure strict compliance with ILP regulations and maintain effective monitoring of unauthorized entry and stay in the district.
