YAZALI, May 15: The newly constructed “Ekta Bhawan” was officially inaugurated at the Yazali Police Station on Thursday in a function marked by ceremonial ribbon-cutting and unveiling of the inauguration plaque. The initiative aimed at strengthening community policing and public engagement in the region.
As part of the event, a plantation drive was also conducted in the presence of Deputy Commissioner Shweta Nagarkoti, Superintendent of Police Angad Mehta, ZPC Nabam Piju, local leaders, and members of the public.
Addressing the gathering, IPS (Probationer) Anurag Chopra, who is currently serving as Officer-in-Charge of Yazali Police Station, described the Ekta Bhawan as a welcoming public space intended to bridge the gap between the police and the community.
Speakers at the programme emphasized the importance of mutual trust, cooperation, and public participation in maintaining peace and security in the region. They expressed hope that the facility would serve as a platform for stronger engagement between law enforcement agencies and citizens.
The programme concluded with a ‘high tea’, providing an opportunity for officials, community leaders, and locals to interact and discuss issues related to public safety and community welfare. (DIPRO)
