Itanagar, May 16: Arunachal Pradesh Commerce and Industries Minister Nyato Dukam on Saturday inaugurated “Tulang,” an edible oil extraction and production facility at the Industrial Estate in Pasighat. The unit, established as a subsidiary of Elam Industries, will manufacture and supply pure mustard and sesame oil in the region.
Addressing the inaugural programme, proprietor and Group Captain (Retd) Mohonto Panging Pao said the factory is committed to producing unadulterated edible oil. While the products are not being marketed as fully organic due to sourcing raw materials from different suppliers, he assured that the oil would remain completely pure and free from adulteration.
He informed that the factory currently has a production capacity of 200 litres per day and carries out the entire process — from extraction and bottling to packaging and labelling — within the facility.
Speaking on the occasion, Minister Dukam lauded Group Captain Pao for contributing to the state’s industrial growth and employment generation after an accomplished career in the Indian Air Force. He said such entrepreneurial initiatives are helping place Arunachal Pradesh prominently on the country’s industrial map.
“The state government under the leadership of Chief Minister Pema Khandu remains committed to developing Arunachal Pradesh into an important industrial hub,” the Minister said.
He also assured that the memorandum submitted by the Siang Indigenous Manufacturers, Producers & Services Association would be examined in consultation with the Chief Minister and concerned departments.
Pasighat East MLA Tapi Darang described the venture as a major boost for the local economy, noting that it would provide market opportunities for farmers cultivating oilseeds while also creating employment avenues for local youth.
Pasighat West MLA Ninong Ering and Mebo MLA Oken Tayeng also addressed the gathering and called for community support to ensure the success of the new industrial venture.
