MLA Glow launches ‘Baraidua Bugun Nyoak Dictionary’

SINGCHUNG, May 18: In a significant development towards preserving and promoting Bugun language, Thrizino-Buragaon MLA Tenzin Nyima Glow today launched the 1st edition of the Baraidua Bugun Nyoak Dictionary at Singchung in West Kameng district.

He made the honour, in presence of All Bugun Khowa Society (ABKS) chairman Naresh Glow, Singchung block ZPM Prem Norbu Phinya, Gaon Burahs, members of the Singchung Village Council, Baraidua members, and senior citizens.

Speaking on the occasion, the MLA emphasized the importance of preserving and promoting indigenous languages, cultural identity, traditions, and heritage. He appealed to the younger generation to actively carry forward the rich cultural legacy of the Bugun community for future generations.

He stated that language plays a vital role in safeguarding the identity and history of a community, and initiatives like the publication of the dictionary would greatly contribute towards preserving the Bugun language and strengthening cultural roots.

Moreover, the MLA also appreciated the dedicated efforts of lexicographers Anje Phiang and Tsering Sarai for compiling the Baraidua Bugun Nyoak Dictionary. He noted that their contribution would serve as an important milestone in the preservation and promotion of the Bugun language for generations to come.
