Arunachal CEO conducts virtual training on Special Intensive Revision of Electoral Rolls

Itanagar, May 18: The Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), Arunachal Pradesh conducted a virtual training session on the Special Intensive Revision of Electoral Rolls for all District Election Officers (DEOs) and Electoral Registration Officers (EROs) on Monday.

Welcoming the participants, Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Pawan Kumar Sain stated that the main objective of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) is to ensure that electoral rolls remain pure, accurate, and inclusive so that no eligible citizen is left out and no ineligible person is included.

The CEO urged DEOs to hold coordination meetings with representatives of political parties to apprise them about the SIR exercise. He also directed DEOs to conduct coordination meetings and training programmes with their respective district election teams, including EROs, AEROs, and other election functionaries.

Further, he instructed them to closely supervise the functioning of Booth Level Officers (BLOs) and BLO Supervisors to ensure effective implementation of the revision process.

Joint Chief Electoral Officer Liken Koyu delivered a comprehensive PowerPoint presentation on the Special Intensive Revision of Electoral Rolls and clarified various aspects related to the exercise.

The virtual training session was also attended by Deputy Chief Electoral Officer Shania Kayem Mize.
