State Food Commission reviews welfare schemes in Upper Subansiri

DAPORIJO, May 22: The State-level review committee of the Arunachal Pradesh State Food Commission, headed by Chairman Tarh Tarak along with members Ngaasah Tangjang and Maji Chokar, visited Upper Subansiri district as part of its statewide review tour.

The Commission held a review meeting with line departments at Daporijo to assess the achievements and challenges of various Central and State flagship programmes, including the National Food Security Act (NFSA), Antyodaya Anna Yojana (AAY), Supplementary Nutrition Programme-Hot Cooked Foods (SNP-HCF) and Pradhan Mantri Poshan Shakti Nirman (PM-POSHAN).

Addressing the meeting, Tarak said the objective of the statewide tour was to understand the ground-level realities, identify challenges faced by beneficiaries and departments, and spread awareness about welfare schemes, particularly the NFSA, to ensure benefits reach deserving people.

He urged departments to remain proactive in implementing welfare schemes in line with the vision of Viksit Bharat so that needy beneficiaries can fully avail the opportunities created by the Central Government for inclusive development.

District Food & Civil Supplies Officer (DF&CSO) D Lampong presented the stock position of essential commodities in the district and highlighted the issue of LPG shortage currently affecting the area.

The meeting was attended by ADC cum District Grievances Redressal Officer Biaro Sorum and the Heads of Departments. (DIPRO)
