Itanagar, May 24: Arunachal Pradesh Governor Lt Gen (Retd) KT Parnaik has said that Sainik Schools have played a transformative role in nation-building by nurturing generations of disciplined, patriotic and service-oriented youth committed to the nation’s growth and security.
The Governor made the remarks while attending the Sainwinians’ Annual Meet organised by the Delhi NCR Chapter of Alumni of Sainik School Rewa at the Manekshaw Centre, New Delhi, on Saturday.
Several distinguished alumni of Sainik School Rewa attended the event, including Chief of Army Staff General Upendra Dwivedi, Lieutenant Governor of Andaman and Nicobar Islands Admiral Devendra Kumar Joshi, Lt Gen (Retd) Dushyant Chauhan and Air Marshal (Retd) P K Roy, among others.
Parnaik, an alumnus from the first batch of Sainik School Rewa, highlighted the significant contribution of Sainik Schools in shaping responsible citizens through emphasis on discipline, character-building, leadership, academic excellence and national spirit.
“Sainik Schools have consistently produced officers, administrators, professionals and public servants who have contributed immensely to India’s development and national security,” the Governor said.
Referring to the courage and professionalism displayed by the Indian Armed Forces during operations such as Operation Sindoor, the Governor said institutions like Sainik Schools help cultivate values of patriotism, preparedness and commitment among young minds.
He further stated that as India marches towards the vision of Viksit Bharat, Sainik Schools would continue to play a crucial role in developing disciplined leadership, strengthening national unity and preparing a strong generation capable of safeguarding and advancing the nation’s future.
Sainik School Rewa, established in 1962, holds a prominent place in India’s educational and military history and has produced several distinguished personalities in the Armed Forces, civil services, sports and various fields of public life.
