JNC Pasighat introduces Principal’s Merit Award for university toppers

PASIGHAT, May 24: Jawaharlal Nehru College (JNC), Pasighat, has introduced the Principal’s Departmental Merit Award from the current academic session to recognise and honour university toppers from both Undergraduate (UG) and Postgraduate (PG) departments.

The initiative aims to encourage academic excellence and motivate students to achieve outstanding performance in university examinations.

According to an official notification issued by the college principal, the overall topper of the college will receive a cash award of Rs 10,000 along with a certificate of excellence.

In a notable gesture, Dr Temin Payum, Associate Professor of the Department of Botany, has consented to sponsor the award for the overall topper.

The college administration has directed all Heads of Departments (HoDs) to verify and submit the names of their respective UG and PG toppers to the Vice Principal immediately after the declaration of university results.

The awards will be formally presented during an official function of the college.
