LIKABALI, May 25: Lower Siang Deputy Commissioner Gobi Nyicyor, while expressing concern on ‘growing’ drug menace in the district, has emphasized the need to successfully take apart the chain of drug supply and trafficking, besides reinforcing the rehabilitation centres so as to curb the grave issue.
The DC laid this emphasis during the NCORD meeting for the month of May 2026, which was held here in Lower Siang district today.
Chairing the meeting, the DC took a review of the activities undertaken by the district police administration and other stakeholders operating in the district. He reiterated his earlier appeal to all concerned departments and agencies to work out effective strategies to curb the growing drug menace in the district.
Emphasizing the importance of coordination and teamwork among all members and stakeholders, the DC stressed the need to ensure that the chain of drug supply and trafficking is effectively dismantled and that facilities at rehabilitation centres are further strengthened.
“The monthly meeting should pave the way for bringing pragmatic results rather than being a mere routine exercise,” the DC asserted. (DIPRO)
