The MoU signing process was overseen by Siang Deputy Commissioner Tayi Taggu, in presence of officials from the district administration. Today, 18 more households from Begging village formally signed the MoU indicating growing support for the proposed project.

Earlier, 36 households had signed the agreement for the project’s PFR. With the latest development, a total of 54 households in Begging village have now signed the MoU.

The steady increase in participation reflects continued dialogue and engagement among stakeholders regarding the Siang Upper Multipurpose Project. The district administration, led by DC Taggu, has been facilitating consultations and discussions to ensure community participation in the developmental initiative.

The SUMP is considered one of the major proposed infrastructure projects in the region, and the ongoing PFR-related consultations are being closely monitored by the administration and concerned agencies. (DIPRO)
