LIKABALI, May 27: Aimed at acquainting stakeholders with the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process being carried out across the State, Lower Siang District Election Officer (DEO) Gobi Nyicyor had a coordination meeting on SIR–2026 with the representatives of various political parties at the DC’s office conference hall here on Wednesday.
Addressing the gathering, local MLA-cum-State Assembly Deputy Speaker Kardo Nyigyor called upon the citizens to strictly follow the revision process and not take the exercise lightly. He emphasized that all outsider applicants seeking enrollment should be properly verified before inclusion in the electoral rolls.
He further appealed to all political parties to remain precise and accurate while facilitating the enrollment of intending voters and actively participate in the important exercise undertaken by the Election Commission of India.
During the meeting, Austin Koyu, ADC Nari-cum-ERO of 36 Nari-Koyu Assembly Constituency, and Janes Mary Tayeng, AC headquarters-cum-ERO of 28 Likabali Assembly Constituency, explained various aspects of SIR–2026, including revision procedures, claims and objections, verification mechanisms, and the role of political parties and Booth Level Agents (BLAs) in ensuring accurate and error-free electoral rolls.
The meeting also witnessed interactive discussions, suggestions, and clarifications among the delegates and election officials regarding the ongoing revision exercise.
