Itanagar, May 29: Chief Minister Pema Khandu on Friday laid the foundation stone for the new State Emergency Operation Centre (SEOC)-cum-State Disaster Management Authority (SDMA) Office building at the Civil Secretariat in Itanagar.
The foundation stone was laid in the presence of MLAs Techi Kaso, Nakap Nalo and Rode Bui.
Describing the project as a major step towards strengthening Arunachal Pradesh’s disaster management mechanism, Khandu said the state-of-the-art facility would significantly enhance disaster preparedness and emergency response capabilities.
The upcoming SEOC-cum-SDMA building will house advanced control rooms, modern communication systems, conference halls and emergency operation infrastructure under one roof to ensure coordinated and efficient response during disasters and emergencies.
The Chief Minister stated that the facility would play a crucial role in improving real-time coordination, decision-making and disaster response management across the state.
