LDV meets to improve telecom connectivity through proper usage of CBuD app in district

ROING, May 29: Aiming at generating awareness on the importance, implementation and usage of the CBuD (Call Before u Dig) application and various telecom-related issues in Lower Dibang Valley district, a District Level Telecommunication Monitoring Committee meeting, organized by the IT&C Department and chaired by Deputy Commissioner Fwwrman Brahma, was held at the conference hall of Mini Secretariat here, with concerned departments including PWD, PHED, Power, UD, RWD, Forest, NIC, BSNL and other Telecom Service Providers (TSPs).

Addressing the meeting, the DC emphasized on the need to improve telecom connectivity in the locations with educational institution in the district. He stressed on the importance of effective coordination among all departments and service providers.

Further, the DC urged all excavating agencies and contractors to mandatorily use the CBuD application before undertaking any digging or excavation work in the district.

DITO Minam Apum delivered a presentation highlighting the key features and benefits of the platform. The CBuD application enables departments and agencies, especially excavating agencies and contractors to enquire and verify underlying telecom and utility assets before carrying out excavation works. This helps prevent damage to underground infrastructure and ensures better coordination among stakeholders.

The meeting also discussed telecom connectivity issues and network improvement measures across the district. (DIPRO)
