PASIGHAT, May 31: In a significant step towards improving reproductive healthcare in Arunachal Pradesh, Birla Fertility & IVF has partnered with Health Care Hospital, Pasighat, to bring advanced fertility services closer to couples seeking specialized treatment in the state.

The collaboration was announced during the “Fertility Unscripted” CME (Continuing Medical Education) programme held at Lower Banskota, Pasighat. The event was attended by fertility specialists, gynecologists and healthcare professionals from across the Northeast. The initiative aims to reduce the need for patients to travel outside the state for specialized fertility consultations and treatment.

Under the partnership, services such as fertility consultations, diagnostic scans, ovulation monitoring and Intrauterine Insemination (IUI) procedures will be made available locally at Health Care Hospital, located in the Sawmill area along NH-515. These services will be provided under the guidance of experts from Birla Fertility & IVF centres across the country, including Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata and Guwahati.

Speaking at the event, Senior Consultant and Centre Head of Birla Fertility & IVF, Guwahati, Dr Kalpana Jain, emphasized the importance of accessible and timely fertility care. She also shared insights on improving IUI success rates through proper monitoring, individualized treatment plans and evidence-based medical care. She highlighted that conditions such as PCOS, endometriosis, and LUF syndrome can affect fertility and requires early diagnosis and management.

Dr Kaling Megu, CMD of Health Care Hospital, said the partnership would provide local couples with easier access to quality fertility services, reducing both financial and emotional burdens associated with seeking treatment outside the state. Dr James Modi stressed the importance of timely consultation and expert guidance for better reproductive health outcomes.

The CME programme also featured discussions on fertility awareness, recurrent pregnancy loss, advancements in reproductive medicine, and ethical healthcare practices. Healthcare professionals attending the event welcomed the initiative and expressed optimism that it would strengthen fertility care services and improve access to reproductive healthcare across Arunachal Pradesh.
