Refresher training on SIR-2026 preparedness conducted at Seppa

Seppa, Jun 1: A refresher training programme on preparedness for the Special Intensive Revision (SIR)-2026 of electoral rolls was conducted for Booth Level Officers (BLOs) at the Abo Tani Conference Hall of the District Secretariat here on Monday.

The programme was chaired by District Election Officer-cum-Deputy Commissioner Yashaswini B and attended by the Deputy District Election Officer, Returning Officer, Assistant Electoral Registration Officers (AEROs), and other election officials.

Dr Sandip Banerjee, an official at Nirvachan Bhawan in Itanagar, participated virtually as a resource person and delivered a comprehensive session on the BLO app and various operational aspects of the SIR-2026 exercise.

The training was aimed at enhancing the capacity of BLOs and strengthening their understanding of electoral roll revision procedures, field verification mechanisms, and the effective use of digital tools in election management.

Addressing the participants, the DEO underscored the pivotal role played by BLOs in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of electoral rolls. She urged all officials to carry out their responsibilities with dedication, diligence, and professionalism to facilitate a transparent and error-free revision process.

The programme concluded with an interactive question-and-answer session, during which participants sought clarification on various operational and technical issues related to the forthcoming electoral roll revision exercise. (DIPRO)
