PASIGHAT, Jun 3: As part of the department’s ongoing efforts to promote taxpayer education, improve ease of compliance, and foster a transparent and taxpayer-friendly tax administration through direct interaction and capacity-building initiatives, a two-day GST awareness-cum-hands-on training programme, organized by the CGST & Central Excise, Pasighat Range, concluded at the Siang Guest House here today.
The programme witnessed the active participation of around 60 stakeholders, including taxpayers, traders, business owners, entrepreneurs, tax practitioners, and members of the local business community.
Participants were sensitized on various aspects of the Goods and Services Tax (GST), including GST registration, return filing, invoicing, Input Tax Credit (ITC), maintenance of records, GST portal functionalities, compliance requirements, and provisions relating to offences and penalties under GST.
Hands-on training sessions were also conducted to provide practical exposure to the GST portal and assist participants in addressing common compliance-related issues.
The technical sessions were conducted by Chartered Accountant Biju Sen Gupta and facilitated by officers of CGST & Central Excise, Pasighat Range, in collaboration with SGST, Pasighat.
The resource persons interacted extensively with the participants, offering practical insights into GST compliance and addressing queries related to return filing, Input Tax Credit, GST procedures, and portal functionalities.
The programme aimed to enhance taxpayer awareness, promote voluntary compliance, and strengthen engagement between the GST administration and stakeholders. Participants appreciated the initiative and actively participated in discussions on practical challenges faced in GST compliance. (DIPRO)
