Itanagar, Jun 6: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Saturday formally handed over its party ticket to former Arunachal Pradesh BJP president Tai Tagak for the upcoming election to the lone Rajya Sabha seat from the State.
The ticket was presented to Tagak by State BJP president Kaling Moyong at the party’s sate headquarters here in the presence of Arunachal East MP Tapir Gao, party MLAs, state office bearers, and BJP workers.
Welcoming Tagak, Moyong said the party was confident in his ability to represent the aspirations of the people of Arunachal Pradesh in the Upper House of Parliament. He described Tagak as an experienced leader whose dedication and commitment to public service would contribute to the development of the state and the nation.
Expressing his best wishes, Moyong said the BJP leadership was confident that Tagak would successfully carry forward the party’s vision and strengthen Arunachal Pradesh’s voice at the national level.
MP Tapir Gao also congratulated Tagak on being named the BJP’s official candidate for the Rajya Sabha seat and wished him success in the election.
The election to the lone Rajya Sabha seat from Arunachal Pradesh is scheduled to be held on June 18 next.
