ITANAGAR, Jun 14: Running on the trot, the Arunachal Pradesh Literary Society conducted its 153rd monthly sitting here today, with APLS president Yeshe Dorjee Thongchi chairing the session.
Former Chief Secretary of Jammu and Kashmir, Pramod Jain, who is presently serving as Chairman, AP Administrative Reforms Board, and former Director Trade and Commerce (GoAP), among others, were present on the occasion.
Jain, who is a reputed scholar, poet and civil servant, read out two poems namely ‘Chimpu to Naharlagun’ and ‘Monsoon Mist in Itanagar’, reflecting the beauty and hustle bustle life of Itanagar.
The poets who recited their self-composed poems were Dr Doyir Ete Taipodia (Not so innocent, Florist), Takhe Yasa (Umiam, A call of the Universe, Dear Rubu Kapa Bhai ) and a short story named ‘Forgotten umbrella and the old man’, Giacobhi Hwansa (Benevolent, innocent ) and Tarh Sussana recited one untitled poem along with another poem called City Lights.
On the occasion, Inumoni Das Thongchi read out a short story of Lok Lapung, which was translated by her from English to Assamese and another Hindi poem of Kumar Tatar Tok translated to Assamese.
