ITANAGAR, Jun 15: Members of the Voice of Unemployed Laboratory Technician (VULT) staged a peaceful rally in Itanagar on Monday, pressing the state government to address their long-pending demands related to recruitment and laboratory services in the Health Department.

Addressing the rally at the IG Park Tennis Court here, VULT members alleged that despite submitting several memorandums to the government and the department over the years, their concerns have remained unaddressed.

The organization has demanded the immediate advertisement of 192 sanctioned posts of Medical Laboratory Technologists (MLT) through the Arunachal Pradesh Staff Selection Board (APSSB), cancellation of the existing laboratory services tender system, discontinuation of outsourcing and PPP models in laboratory and blood bank services, and publication of a white paper on vacant technical posts under the Health Department.

VULT members claimed that while recruitment guidelines and rules have already been prepared, the concerned department has allegedly failed to process documents related to vacant posts and is instead focusing on outsourcing arrangements.

The organization expressed concern over the prolonged shortage of technical manpower, stating that inadequate staffing is affecting the efficiency of laboratory services and the delivery of quality healthcare across the state.
