ROING, Jun 22: Advisor to the Home and Education Department and MLA Mutchu Mithi on Monday inaugurated three Sub-Health Centres at Kebali, Balek and Horupahar in Lower Dibang Valley district.
The inauguration programme was attended by Deputy Commissioner Fwwrman Brahma, District Medical Officer Dr Worar Taku, officers from the Health and PHE & Water Supply departments, PRI members and members of the public.
Speaking on the occasion, Mithi appreciated the Health Department for operationalising the sub-centres, which were notified by the government in July 2014. He directed the department to ensure the availability of essential medicines and urged villagers to cooperate with health workers for effective delivery of healthcare services. He also assured that he would pursue the matter of infrastructure development funds with the government.
Addressing the gathering, DC Fwwrman Brahma appealed to parents to ensure HPV vaccination for girls aged 9 to 14 years as a preventive measure against cervical cancer.
The newly inaugurated facilities are expected to strengthen healthcare access in the rural areas of the district. (DIPRO)
