DIRANG, Jun 22: A Coordination-cum-Sub-Divisional Level Monitoring Committee meeting was held at Dirang on Monday under the chairmanship of Advisor to the Minister for PWD, Highways and Science & Technology, Phurpa Tsering, to review developmental activities and address key issues affecting the subdivision.
The meeting was attended by West Kameng Deputy Commissioner Dr Dilip Kumar, Superintendent of Police, Additional Deputy Commissioners, administrative officers, heads of departments, ZPMs, PRI members and other stakeholders.
Welcoming the participants, ADC Dirang highlighted the importance of the meeting in assessing the progress of developmental works and strengthening service delivery across the subdivision. Heads of various departments made detailed presentations on ongoing projects, achievements, challenges and future plans.
The meeting also discussed several public concerns and departmental issues, including transportation difficulties faced by staff, installation of smart meters, pipeline connectivity, manpower shortages and infrastructure-related challenges.
Addressing the gathering, DC Dr Dilip Kumar emphasized the need for stronger inter-departmental coordination to ensure timely completion and quality execution of developmental projects. He also directed departments to ensure that beneficiaries selected under government welfare schemes are genuine and deserving.
In his address, Phurpa Tsering stressed the importance of involving Panchayat leaders in the implementation of developmental programmes. He said beneficiary selection should be carried out transparently and in consultation with elected grassroots representatives to ensure fairness and accountability.
Taking note of transportation problems faced by administrative officers and contingency staff, particularly due to the distance between offices, the Advisor assured that efforts would be made to facilitate the provision of a bus for the convenience of government employees.
