Traditional craftsmanship on cane & bamboo concludes

ITANAGAR, Jun 25: A traditional craftsmanship on cane and bamboo craft, organized in Changlang by the Department of Textile and Handicrafts, concluded today.

The programme was conducted under the leadership of Chaseng Sena, aimed at preserving the rich traditional craftsmanship of the region while equipping artisans with valuable skills and sustainable livelihood opportunities.

Attending the event, State Assembly Speaker Tesam Pongte lauded the initiative for promoting indigenous art forms and empowering local artisans through skill development.

He emphasized the importance of preserving traditional knowledge and crafts for future generations while creating avenues for economic self-reliance.

The event was also attended by DC Vishal Sah and ZPM Komlo Hodong, who encouraged the participants to continue honing their skills and contribute towards the preservation of the district's cultural heritage.

The programme concluded with the distribution of certificates to participants, marking the successful completion of the training and reaffirming the commitment to strengthening traditional handicrafts and sustainable livelihoods in Changlang district.
