PASIGHAT, Jun 27: As part of Sahkarita Utsav 2026 that promotes the cooperative movement, rural prosperity, and digital awareness across the country, an awareness camp on ill-effects of online gaming was held at the Govt Hr Sec School (GHSS), Borguli on Saturday.
The event was organised by the Assistant Registrar of Cooperative Societies (ARCS), Pasighat, and Arunachal State Rural Livelihoods Mission (ArSRLM), Mebo in collaboration with Monggu Ane Didum Multipurpose Cooperative Society (MPCS) Ltd, in presence of the District Cooperative Union (DCU),
During the programme, the Block Mission Management Unit (BMMU), ArSRLM (Mebo), briefed students on the Government of India advisory on online gaming and the importance of responsible digital use.
Tokmem Moyong, Cluster Coordinator, BMMU (Mebo), conducted an awareness session on the harmful effects of excessive online gaming, including addiction, poor academic performance, mental health issues, physical inactivity, and social isolation.
The session concluded with an interactive question-and-answer segment.
DCU Chairman Malo Komut and Vice Chairman Lottek Pertin exhorted students to use digital technology responsibly and maintain a balance between online activities, academics, physical health, and social life.
Earlier, the welcome address was delivered by Bapiyang Tayeng, ZPM Mebo (Monggu-Banggo I).
The programme concluded with a pledge against harmful online gaming, followed by brief addresses by GHSS Borguli Principal Tani Pada and L Jongkey, ARCS (Pasighat).
The camp enhanced students’ understanding of the risks of excessive online gaming, and encouraged responsible digital behaviour by promoting informed choices that support academic growth, mental well-being, and balanced lifestyles. (DIPRO)
