KHONSA, Jun 27: Assam Rifles Public School (ARPS), Khonsa is successfully conducting Summer Camp 2026 from June 22 to 28, organized by the Khonsa Battalion of Assam Rifles under the theme ‘National Unity and Tribal Infusion’.
The week-long camp has brought together around 160 students from schools across the Tirap, Changlang and Longding (TCL) region, offering them a unique platform to enhance their leadership skills, creativity, teamwork and overall personality through a wide range of educational and recreational activities.
The camp was inaugurated by the Commandant 44 Assam Rifles, who encouraged the participants to make the most of the opportunity by developing self-confidence, discipline, leadership qualities and a spirit of teamwork.
Throughout the camp, students have been actively participating in activities such as camping, Run for Fun, survival skills, arts and crafts, team-building exercises, nature adventure trails, cultural performances, exploration of tribal heritage and campfire sessions, all designed to promote experiential learning and holistic development.
During the course of the camp, the Commander, Headquarters 25 Sector Assam Rifles, visited ARPS, Khonsa and interacted with the participants.
In his address, the Commander motivated the students to pursue excellence in both academics and extracurricular activities while upholding the values of discipline, integrity, patriotism and responsible citizenship.
As part of the programme, the participants are also scheduled to undertake an educational and recreational tour, providing them with valuable exposure and practical learning experiences beyond the classroom.
The Summer Camp continues to serve as an important initiative in nurturing young minds by fostering national integration, cultural awareness and mutual respect among the diverse tribal communities of the TCL region. Through its theme, the camp reinforces the ideals of unity in diversity while reflecting the commitment of the Assam Rifles towards empowering the youth and developing future leaders.
