Joining nationwide NID campaign, P/Pare makes district level launch

YUPIA, Jun 28: Joining the nationwide National Immunization Day campaign, the district-level launch of NID 2026 was conducted at CHC Doimukh by Papum Pare Deputy Commissioner Lobsang Tsering, who administered two drops of Polio vaccine to children.

Addressing the gathering, the DC appealed to the parents to bring their children to the nearest Polio booth and ensure they receive two drops of Polio vaccine for a healthier future. He also urged the public to cooperate with frontline health workers during the intensive house-to-house mopping-up activity on June 29 and 30 to trace and vaccinate any missed out children.

The DC further reaffirmed the district administration’s commitment towards achieving 100% Polio coverage and ensuring that no child is left behind.

Speaking on the occasion, DMO Dr Rina R Ronya appealed to all health workers to ensure that every child below five years is reached and vaccinated.

In his speech, DRCHO Dr Tomar Kamki highlighted the objectives of NID and the preparedness undertaken for the successful implementation of the programme in the district. He informed that the campaign aims to cover 4,353 eligible children through 213 Polio booths and 16 transit points, with a total of 852 staff and ASHAs engaged for booth activities across the district.

SDO Doimukh Nyelam Tan, in his address, appreciated the dedication of the frontline health workers towards society, and assured “full” administrative support from the Doimukh Administrative Division for the successful implementation of all health programmes in the subdivision.
