KHONSA, Jun 30: Officers and staff of the Deputy Commissioner's Office, Tirap, along with officials from various government departments, bade an emotional farewell to Deputy Commissioner Techu Aran on his retirement from government service on attaining the age of superannuation.
The occasion also marked the retirement of Thohang Tangjang, upper division clerk, and Ato Wangham, chowkidar, who concluded their long years of public service on the same day.
The farewell-cum-felicitation programme was attended by ADC Namneet Singh, SDO Tana Bapu, Assistant Commissioners Yowa Anya and N L Naam, and officers and staff from various departments.
In his farewell address, Aran reflected on his remarkable journey in public service, recalling that he began his career as a lower division clerk and eventually rose to become Deputy Commissioner of Tirap through dedication and perseverance.
He urged government employees to treat all individuals with equal respect regardless of rank or designation and emphasized the importance of humility, sincerity and compassion in public service.
“Whether it is a peon or a senior officer, everyone deserves equal respect,” he said, while encouraging officers to remain accessible and responsive to the public.
Senior officers paid rich tributes to Aran, describing him as a calm, humble and approachable administrator whose leadership style earned widespread respect and affection.
Colleagues also shared memories of working with the retiring officials and wished them good health, happiness and success in their post-retirement lives. The programme concluded with the presentation of mementoes, group photographs and emotional farewells, celebrating the contributions of three dedicated public servants. (DIPRO)
