SEPPA, Jul 1: The East Kameng district administration has intensified the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) 2026 of electoral rolls, with Booth Level Officers (BLOs) carrying out extensive field verification across the district since June 15.
The administration commended the dedication of BLOs who have been undertaking door-to-door visits in remote areas despite heavy rainfall, difficult terrain and long foot marches to ensure that every eligible elector is covered under the revision exercise.
Officials said the exercise is being conducted across all four Assembly constituencies in the district, including Bameng, Chayangtajo, Seppa East and Seppa West. Areas such as Langchu, Yakli, Jeju Dada and Seba are among the locations where BLOs are actively engaged in voter verification and awareness activities.
The Special Intensive Revision will continue until July 14. During the exercise, BLOs are distributing enumeration forms, verifying electoral details, collecting completed forms, updating voter information wherever required and creating awareness about the revision process.
The objective of the SIR is to ensure that the electoral roll remains accurate, inclusive, transparent and free from errors. The exercise is being carried out under the supervision of the Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Election Officer, Electoral Registration Officers (EROs), Assistant Electoral Registration Officers (AEROs), election officials and Booth Level Officers.
The district administration has appealed to civil society organisations, community leaders, PRI leaders, community-based organisations, youth groups, media houses, public representatives and citizens to extend full cooperation to BLOs during house-to-house verification.
It also urged eligible voters to provide accurate and complete information in the enumeration forms to facilitate the successful completion of the revision process.
The administration said the success of SIR 2026 depends on the active participation of citizens and will contribute towards maintaining a clean, accurate, inclusive and transparent electoral roll, thereby strengthening the democratic process.
