Tawang reviews the progress of ongoing SIR of electoral roll

TAWANG, Jul 1: Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Election Officer (DEO) Tawang Namgyal Angmo today chaired a meeting with representatives of all recognized political parties in the district to review the progress of the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the electoral roll.

The meeting was held at the DC’s office chamber.

Addressing the participants, the DC underscored the importance of collective participation in ensuring a free, fair, and inclusive electoral process. She appealed to all political parties to actively engage their Booth Level Agents (BLAs) in assisting the Booth Level Officers (BLOs) during the house-to-house verification and enumeration form collection, so that every eligible elector is included and the electoral roll remains accurate, transparent, and error-free.

Additional Deputy Commissioner Lungla-cum-Electoral Registration Officer (ERO), Tashi Dhondup, and Assistant Commissioner Tawang-cum-ERO, Tsering Choden briefed the representatives on the progress of the Special Intensive Revision and requested continued cooperation from all stakeholders for the timely and successful completion of the exercise.

Representatives of the political parties actively participated in the discussion, shared valuable suggestions, and sought clarifications on various aspects of the revision process. They unanimously expressed their commitment to work together, rising above political differences, to support the preparation of a robust, transparent, and error-free electoral roll for the district.

Besides Dhondup and Choden, the meeting was attended by other election officials. (DIPRO)
