RONO HILLS, Jul 1: Rajiv Gandhi University (RGU) accorded a warm and heartfelt farewell to Dr Dhananjay Kumar Pandey, Deputy Librarian, on his superannuation on Tuesday, marking the culmination of more than 26 years of dedicated and distinguished service to the University.
Dr Pandey joined RGU on February 18, 2000, as Technical Assistant (Library). Through his unwavering commitment, professional excellence, and exemplary service, he was subsequently promoted as Assistant Librarian and later as Deputy Librarian. During his illustrious career at RGU, he made immense contributions to the development, modernization, automation, and systematic management of the University Library, significantly strengthening its academic resources and services for faculty members, students, and research scholars.
Prior to joining RGU, he served at Govt Hr Sec School, Miao, and the State Central Library, Arunachal Pradesh. Among his notable professional achievements was his significant contribution to the systematic organisation, restoration, preservation, and cataloguing of several rare books housed at Raj Bhavan, Itanagar, thereby helping preserve valuable documentary heritage.
Widely admired for his professionalism, approachable nature, and commitment to academic service, Dr Pandey earned the respect and affection of generations of students, research scholars, faculty members, and colleagues. His leadership and dedication played a pivotal role in strengthening library services and fostering an environment conducive to teaching, learning, and research.
To honour his remarkable career, the Rajiv Gandhi University Employees’ Association organized a formal felicitation programme celebrating his successful superannuation. The programme was attended by Prof S K Nayak, Vice Chancellor; Dr N T Rikam, Registrar; Prof Otem Padung, Finance Officer; along with University officers, faculty members, staff, students, research scholars, and well-wishers.
