Itanagar, Jul 4: Rajya Sabha MP Tai Tagak, accompanied by Nyapin MLA Tai Nikio, today visited the flood relief camps at Possa and the NEEPCO Colony under Yazali circle in Keyi Panyor district to assess the condition of families affected by the recent flash floods.

During the visit, the leaders distributed financial assistance and essential relief materials to the displaced families. They interacted with the flood victims, listened to their grievances, and assured them of continued support during the relief and rehabilitation process.

The MP also reviewed the facilities and relief arrangements at the camps and appreciated the efforts of the district administration, relief workers, and volunteers for their prompt response and dedicated service in assisting those affected.

Speaking on the occasion, Tagak said the affected families were not alone in this difficult time and assured them of all possible support. He also informed that he had appealed to the Central Government to extend assistance to the Arunachal Pradesh Government, stating that the scale of destruction caused by floods and landslides across the state this year was unprecedented and difficult for the state to manage on its own.

The devastating floods and landslides that struck the Possa and NEEPCO Colony areas on June 24 caused widespread damage. In the NEEPCO Colony, 54 houses comprising 108 residential units were affected, of which 30 houses were completely destroyed or washed away, impacting around 350 people.

In the Possa and Pitapool areas, 10 houses were completely destroyed, 14 houses sustained partial damage, and around 20 households were affected by the disaster.
