ITANAGAR, Jul 8: The Arunachal Pradesh State Human Rights Commission (APSHRC) on Wednesday organised an educational field visit for its internship students to Chimpu Police Station as part of its ongoing internship programme, providing them with firsthand exposure to the functioning of the law enforcement and the criminal justice system.
The cohort comprised fourth-semester students from Don Bosco College, Jully, and Dera Natung Government College, Itanagar.
During the visit, Officer-in-Charge of Chimpu Police Station, Lady Inspector Sunita Nabam, conducted an interactive session with the interns, explaining key aspects of police functioning. She briefed the students on the registration of criminal cases and First Information Reports (FIRs), legal procedures involved in criminal investigations, and the day-to-day responsibilities of a police station.
The interns were later taken on a guided tour of the police station, where they observed the functioning of various specialised cells and gained practical insights into law enforcement.
The educational tour was facilitated by APSHRC’s Inspector T V Camdir along with lady constable Tap Sangeeta, who explained police-public relations and the safeguards in place to protect human rights during policing.
The APSHRC remains committed to fostering practical learning opportunities for students, bridging the gap between academic theory and real-world administrative and legal processes, an official release said.
