Charitable trust distributes notebooks honouring public figures, military family

WAKRO, Jul 9: A charitable trust in eastern Arunachal Pradesh has launched a notebook distribution initiative for rural students by introducing 'Maa Vijay Lakshmi Notebooks', along with Sadhana, Padmini and Amjad notebooks, in honour of individuals recognised for their contributions to public service and society.

The Maa Vijay Lakshmi Notebook has been dedicated to Vijay Lakshmi Singh, wife of Maj Gen RP Singh and mother of Lt Gen Sanjeev Chauhan, who currently serves as Deputy Chief of Army Staff and had earlier commanded the Dao Division as GOC.

According to the organisers, Camlin Premio notebooks have been selected for free distribution among students in rural Arunachal Pradesh. The initiative aims to encourage learning while recognising compassion, public service and leadership.

The trust also distributed Sadhana Notebooks, Padmini Notebooks and Amjad Notebooks, named in honour of IAS officers Sadhana Deori, Padmini Singla and Amjad Tak in recognition of their contributions to public administration.

The notebook distribution programme was formally inaugurated by GOC Dao Division, Maj Gen R S Chandel, in the presence of CO 9 Rajput, Col Roopak Thakur, officers and personnel of 181 Mountain Brigade, and members of the local community at Beena Ghose Roy Enclave of Anu Shiksha Seva Trust (ASSET), Wakro.

The distribution drive was also joined by saintly elder Gajanan Shriram Tamhan, Principals Chayanika Sharma and Kharmaya Sharma, and representatives of Apna Vidya Bhavan, who handed over the notebooks to students.

The charitable trust said it plans to continue the initiative in the next academic session by providing the four categories of notebooks to students in rural areas.
