ZIRO, Jul 10: The Governing Council of the District Mineral Foundation Trust (DMFT), Lower Subansiri district, approved a series of infrastructure and development projects worth Rs 65 lakh for implementation in mining-affected areas under the Pradhan Mantri Khanij Kshetra Kalyan Yojana (PMKKKY).
The meeting, held at the Golden Jubilee Conference Hall on Friday, was chaired by Deputy Commissioner of Lower Subansiri and attended by Ziro-Hapoli MLA Hage Appa, along with heads of various district departments.
The District Mineral Foundation Trust, a non-profit body constituted under the Mines and Minerals (Development and Regulation) Act, 1957, reiterated its commitment to the transparent utilisation of funds for improving public infrastructure and essential services in mining-affected areas.
The Council approved the DMFT Work List-2026, with most of the projects to be executed by the Water Resources Department (WRD), Ziro Division.
Among the major works approved are the upgradation of Padi Yubbe Outdoor Stadium, including procurement of plastic gallery seats, painting and electrification. The council also sanctioned the construction of community toilets at Subu Ago (Doginanii) and Hill Top, Hapoli, the latter following a site realignment.
Other projects include the installation of cattle traps at Sikhebo and Hagio, Hari, construction of a siltation pit at Myolyang, and maintenance of classrooms and sanitation facilities at UPS Sibe and UPS Pare Ami.
The council also approved procurement of essential equipment for Govt offices and educational institutions, including repairs of UPS systems, purchase of new computer systems and inverter backups to improve administrative and educational infrastructure.
The meeting concluded with a call for the timely and quality execution of all approved works, reaffirming the district administration's commitment to achieving the objectives of the DMFT and the PMKKKY scheme. (DIPRO)
